Recently, some strange news for the upcoming PC release of Final Fantasy XV was announced. A Half-Life bundle is coming out. It will give players a Gordon Freeman costume which can be applied to Noctis. Their customizable characters for the upcoming multiplayer expansion Comrades will also get this costume.
This is a neat, but a rather strange idea. Half-Life is the last thing that comes to mind when I think about Final Fantasy.
I doubt this is true, but I wonder if this is some sort of tease. Half-Life 3 is a game that will probably never come out, but there’s a part of me that still has hope. If this strange, Steam-exclusive inclusion of a Gordon Freeman skin for Final Fantasy XV is the first teaser for a new Half-Life, I will lose my mind.
Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition releases on May 26 with the Half-Life pack being available for Steam users if they purchase before May 1.
Microsoft Store users will get a bundle that includes Phoenix Downs, Elixirs, a special sword. Their save files will be also compatible with the Xbox One version of the game.
Electronic Arts’ Origins users who buy the game will get a set of decals for their car.
It may be a shame that Steam is the only service getting the Half-Life bundle, but a demo dropping February 26 will be available for everyone. The demo includes the entire first chapter of Final Fantasy XV.
